Why him and not me? (Acts 12)

A new wave of persecution begins for the church in Jerusalem. For the third time, Peter is put in to prison shortly after James is beheaded. The church is in hiding. Everything seems bleak, and then God shows up. Peter is miraculously set free, and the church is encouraged.

There will be times when we don't understand why God allows tragedy, and yet others go unscathed. But we trust in His sovereignty. Through whatever circumstances God allows, we need to focus on the small steps of obedience, have trust in His plan, and maintain fervent prayer. Trust in Him and live what He's called you to do.
