The Defense Rests (Acts 7)

Stephen is questioned by the high priest if the charges brought against him are accurate. This simple question opens the door for Stephen to provide an amazing defense for the hope he has in Jesus! He brings this council an understanding of how God operates, that they have forgotten. The true purpose of the law, which they have distorted for their own glory. And the true purpose of the temple, which they have idolized. All for which he will be martyred, because the council have hardened their hearts towards Christ.

When we are given any opportunity to share about our faith in the Lord, we need to take it! However, we also need to evaluate if we are falling into religious legalism, and forgetting who God is and what He’s done for us! Our life and all we’ve experienced is part of God’s plan, and we get to be a part of it!
