Can you save yourself? (Luke 23)

The crucifixion of Jesus is a pivotal moment for mankind. The moment our sin meets the cross. In our sin, we seek our own way. Anything to better ourself, even if that comes by manipulation of the circumstances or the mocking of others to elevate our status.

What Jesus did for us on the cross was to move us out of our way and take our place in God's wrath. We deserved to die. But Christ washes us clean of all crimes, and declares us justified. We don't deserve it, but we can receive it by faith as we look to the cross.
