“Labor with the Lord” (Ecclesiastes 4)

Solomon goes on a 'walkabout' and testifies to the atrocities of labor he sees. He sees the powerful oppress the poor. He sees some work their fingers to the bone for selfish gain, and those who are lazy leading to their own destruction. He sees those trying to make it on their own, thinking they don't need anyone else in their life, and he sees the misguided climb the ladder of success, only to end up being forgotten in time.

God created us to work. But to do so with Him in mind. To labor to bring His justice to those who need it. To labor with the proper balance of hard work and rest. To labor with others, because He also created us for community. And to labor, not for status, but for His glory. Let's learn what it means to labor with the Lord and not for ourselves.
