Use the gifts given to you
Watch: Pastor Ray’s message entitled “Unwrapped: Finding the Gift of Jesus” (Part 3), and then work through the following.
Scripture Reading: Matthew 13:1-23
Summary: In this devotion, we will explore the hidden gifts of God through an in-depth study of key Bible passages. These scriptures reveal God's plan for growth, understanding, and sharing His word. We'll delve into the parables of Jesus, the concept of being chosen, the role of faith, and the spiritual gifts given to believers.
The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23)
Jesus teaches that the word of God, like a seed, needs the right conditions to grow. Some hearts are hardened, some are shallow, and some are distracted by worldly concerns. However, the seed that falls on good soil produces a fruitful harvest.
Reflection: Consider the condition of your own heart. Are you receptive to God's word? What steps can you take to cultivate a heart that is good soil for God's message?
Being Chosen by God (Ephesians 1:11)
We are chosen by God according to His purpose and will. This choosing is part of a larger divine plan that encompasses our lives and our future inheritance in Christ.
Reflection: Reflect on the idea of being chosen by God. How does this assurance affect your view of your purpose and direction in life?
The Call to Proclaim (Isaiah 6:9)
Isaiah's mission was to deliver God's message to a people who would largely reject it. This passage underscores the importance of obedience and perseverance in sharing God's word, regardless of the immediate results.
Reflection: Think about your role in sharing the gospel. Are you faithful in proclaiming God's word, even when it seems like people are not responding?
The Role of Faith (Hebrews 11)
Hebrews 11 recounts the stories of many who lived by faith. Their actions were driven by their trust in God's promises, even when they couldn't see the outcome.
Reflection: Examine your own faith. How does your trust in God influence your actions? Are you willing to step out in faith, even when the future is uncertain?

We ask that You cultivate our hearts to be receptive to Your word, allowing it to grow and bear fruit in our lives. Remind us daily that we are chosen by You for a divine purpose. Strengthen our faith, like the heroes of old, so we may trust You completely even when we cannot see the outcome.
